Industrial wastewater can be a great source of dangerous contamination. In order to protect the natural environment (rivers, lakes, beaches, coastal areas) increasingly stricter regulations have been implemented to limit the release of pathogenic microorganisms originating from industrial discharge. This has led many large-scale manufacturing facilities to implement UV as part of their wastewater treatment process.
The main reason UV has become a preferred solution compared to its alternatives is that it doesn’t create any chemical by-products. This is exceptionally important as discharge water usually is already filled with toxic chemicals. UV disinfection is also the most effective solution against almost all known pathogenic bacteria and viruses as well as chemically complex compounds.
Utilizing standard UV disinfection or advanced solutions such as AOP, ULTRAAQUA UV also enables companies to re-use their process water, which leads to saved costs and environmental optimization. ULTRAAQUA UV delivers advanced UV disinfection solutions for textile, food processing, organic chemical, and petroleum refining companies. As the discharge water can already be heavily contaminated, adding different agents would only complicate the treatment process. ULTRAAQUA UV systems can eliminate targeted microorganisms without affecting other physical or chemical water properties.

Whether through standard disinfection, or Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) – ULTRAAQUA UV can treat water for direct and in-direct water re-use applications.
