INDUSTRIAL WATER TREATMENT IN THAILAND
Purac (Thailand) Ltd., is a subsidiary of Corbion, a global market leader in lactic acid based in Thailand.
Purac has been in operation since 2017, serving products including Lactic acid, lactic acid derivatives, and lactides, for biobased food ingredients and biochemical. With a production capacity of 125.000 tons per annum, Purac is committed to maintaining high-quality product standards.
WHAT THE CLIENT NEEDED
THE HIGHEST WATER QUALITY STANDARDS
To ensure an efficient and reliable water treatment process, the client chose to include UV disinfection as the last step of the treatment path. The requirement was to treat a total water volume of 550 m3/h hygienic grade RO/DI water for utility and process uses.
With the aim of reaching the highest water quality standards, UV disinfection was a clear-cut choice for ensuring the prevention of harmful bacteria.
THE SOLUTION
COMPLETE DISINFECTION CONTROL
In total, two UV systems were installed:
- MR3-220SS for treating 150 m3/hr RO/DI water
- MR6-350SS for treating 400 m3/hr RO/DI water
Since the installation of the UV systems, comprehensive testing has resulted in no harmful bacteria being detected. The utilization of the two UV systems has thus achieved safe and reliable water for utility and process uses.
The comprehensive understanding of the faced challenge combined with the availability of local support allowed a smooth process from product selection to installation and operation.
This again highlights the effectiveness of sustainable UV technology for ensuring high-quality conditions for industrial processes, leaving the client to be well-equipped for maintaining stringent water quality standards.
