The Southern Region Industrial Estate Project in Hat Yai, Songkhla Province, Thailand is a governmental project ran by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) to increase industrial development of the area, especially agro-industries that includes rubber, palm oil, and seafood. This project is of crucial importance for the country, as it is a part of a strategy to improve the living conditions of the people in the region due to past economic struggles and political instability. The purpose of the project is to create employment opportunities, increase wages in factory and service industries, as well as to boost the overall regional economy, and attract tourism.
Due to the guidelines and continuously increasing population, factories, and pollution that follows, these changes and development processes call for a certain level of environmental responsibility. Thailand’s government has expressed a high level of interest in upgrading their current production processes with more sustainable technologies that correlate with their guidelines for conservation and rehabilitation of natural resources.
“ULTRAAQUA was very adaptive concerning the product’s design so we could finally fit UV systems into the project’s limited space. During the equipment approval phase, ULTRAAQUA’s strong technical support demonstrated to the project’s consultant that our selected models could meet the internationally accepted UV dose. We also appreciated ULTRAAQUA’s good understanding in Thailand’s price driven market.”
