WATER PARK IN MALAYSIA
The SplashMania Waterpark in Gamuda Cove is a water theme park located in Malaysia, an hour’s drive away from Kuala Lumpur.
The water park features 39 water slides and attractions, which means that massive amounts of water require continuous treatment to ensure a good experience for the visitors.
WHAT THE CLIENT NEEDED
A SAFE WATER ENVIRONMENT
To ensure a safe water environment in all the 39 water slides and attractions, a non-chemical approach to control waterborne microorganisms was required.
To remove the by-products derived from chlorination, a sustainable non-chemical disinfection method had to be implemented. This includes chlorine resistant-microorganisms such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia that can be harmful to the bathers.
UV systems possess the ability to remove these chlorine by-products through the photolysis process under operation.
THE SOLUTION
UV SYSTEMS FOR COMPLETE MICROORGANISM CONTROL
To provide the best possible water conditions following the defined safety protocol for bather safety, the following systems were installed:
- 8x MP1-3500
- 4x MP1-2000
- 2x MP1-1000
All the systems included the automatic ULTRAWIPER™ wiping system to ensure clean quartz sleeves for minimized maintenance conditions and maximized operational efficiency.
The MULTIRAY was selected due to its ability to meet the technical criteria of high flow rates, low energy demands, as well as its compact chamber design. Additionally, the availability of support through our local partner Hydro Nusantara Sdn Bhd. was instrumental.
The established water treatment process will thus create a great sustainable foundation for the future, utilizing UV disinfection for creating a healthier and safer environment for the visitors.
