ICV, Idrætscenter Vendsyssel, is a new state-of-the-art swimming center being constructed in Vrå, Northern Jutland, Denmark. The 2.400 m² facility represents a significant investment of DKK 120 million and is scheduled for completion in spring 2026. The swimming hall features a 25-meter pool with eight lanes, a leisure pool with a waterslide, and a dedicated wellness section, all forming part of a modern and inspiring activity house that creates an attractive meeting point for the local community.
The facility is designed to host both large and small events, including concerts, lectures, sports events, and training camps. By being physically connected to the existing Idrætscenter Vendsyssel, the new swimming center reinforces the cohesion of the entire sports complex, serving as a comprehensive “catch-all” solution for wellness, recreation, and community engagement.
The client required a future-proof water treatment solution capable of delivering an outstanding visitor experience while meeting high standards for operational efficiency, sustainability, and water quality.
A central requirement was to implement energy-efficient, top-of-the-line technology to reduce energy consumption, optimize daily operations, and support long-term environmental goals. At the same time, maintaining consistently clean, safe, and crystal-clear water across multiple pool environments was essential to ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all user groups.
The facility also needed a holistic approach that would minimize chlorine by-products to improve both water and air quality, reduce water consumption, and ensure that bathers could spend extended time in the pool environment without the irritation or discomfort traditionally associated with chlorine-heavy facilities.
