Manit Genetics Co., Ltd is a part of the Manit Group which was originally known as the Manit Farm since 1970s. Mr. Manit and Mrs. Wipa Luengnaruemitchai started their business as shrimp and catfish farmers and expanded into a tilapia hatchery years later. Today Manit Group is still a family-owned business that consists of 3 organizations: Manit Aquaculture Co., Ltd (Shrimp Production), Manit Intertrade Co., Ltd (Trading) and Manit Genetics Co., Ltd (Tilapia breeding and hatchery). Manit Genetics has its own professional team of specialists to supervise each step of the aquatic animal production. As a result, they have become renowned as one of the most comprehensive aquaculture farms in Thailand.

Seeking to upgrade their production process, the Manit Farm was searching for a safe and efficient solution for their process water treatment. The company also conducts extensive tilapia research and has earned Outstanding Genetic Management of Tilapia Brood Fish and Farm Management at a National Level from the Department of Fisheries award.
The newly treated water had to significantly increase the overall water biosecurity standard without potentially creating a threat to species through dangerous by-products. Furthermore, the company has prioritized an environmentally friendly solution at the discharge point of the production.
THE SOLUTION
COMPLETE DISEASE CONTROL
ULTRAAQUA was selected because of the extensive experience within the aquaculture sector. The UV systems were installed in different points across the production – intake, process, and discharge. The UV system at the entry point ensures that no dangerous pathogens enter the RAS, while another system protects the fish from disease risks.
The last system was installed at the very end of the process, which will secure the environment from any potentially harmful microorganisms being discharged into surrounding water bodies.
