AQUARIUM IN QATAR
Located in Doha, the biggest aquarium in Qatar has just been built, showcasing 41 different aquatic species in a remarkable tank filled with 5290 cubic meters of water.
WHAT THE CLIENT NEEDED
EXCELLENT WATER QUALITY AND CLARITY
To ensure great water conditions for the 41 aquatic species to thrive in the water, as well as guaranteeing the visitors a good viewer experience, excellent water quality and clarity was a necessity. This led to the requirements of ensuring consistent water clarity while living up to the defined disinfection protocol for the inactivation of selected microorganisms.
Both of these essential requirements were perfectly matched for UV technology, which is capable of keeping microorganisms such as viruses and bacteria under full control while guaranteeing operational efficiency using sustainable technology.
THE SOLUTION
DURABLE POLYPROPYLENE UV SYSTEMS
For such a large-scale aquarium, it was evident that excellent conditions were required for the 41 selected species to thrive in the water.
In cooperation with ADEC LSS, a provider of turnkey public aquariums, 5x MR6-350PP UV systems were installed to ensure biosecurity control, enabling excellent water treatment conditions.
The systems will now ensure living up to the defined water treatment conditions to keep the water disinfected, treating a total water flow of 2200 m3 per hour.
As the installed UV systems are made from Polypropylene (PP) material, excellent durability and corrosion-resistance are ensured. Additionally, the UV systems are optimized for low maintenance requirements, which removes labor-intensive and complicated processes.
This leaves the installed UV systems ready for ensuring microorganism control and excellent water clarity levels for many years to come while providing minimized maintenance requirements and excellent material durability.
