SWIMMING POOL IN SPAIN
Since the very beginning, the Caudete Municipal Indoor Pool has been aiming to use new technology to improve the overall conditions of their pools. This has been done with 2 important perspectives in mind, ensuring a focus on protecting the environment, while protecting the health and security of their customers using the pool. To achieve both of these essential goals, implementing UV technology was a perfect solution.
WHAT THE CLIENT NEEDED
A BETTER ENVIRONMENT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS
An important step towards complying with the ambitions of being strongly focused on sustainability and their customers’ health, was to upgrade the environment for their customers. To do this, the Caudete City Council chose to invest in UV systems, to improve the overall quality of the facility. This was done with the ambitions of improving the quality of the water while reducing water consumption, ultimately leading to a reduced carbon footprint of the facility.
THE SOLUTION
UV TECHNOLOGY EXCELLENCE
In order to live up to the high requirements set by the municipal of Caudete, choosing the MULTIRAY UV system from ULTRAAQUA was a perfect fit. Two UV systems were installed – the MP1000 and MP3000. Through continuous photolysis, the systems are able to maintain a low level of organic combined chlorine from the swimming pool water.
Since installing the systems, a radical change of the quality of the water was shown, even visible to the human eye, by reducing its turbidity and increasing its transparency. An essential improvement was the significant reduction of by-products derived from the chlorine used in the pool. Installing the UV systems will thus allow the facility to offer a better environment for their customers by getting rid of chloramines, as chloramines are known to damage the respiratory tract, eyes and skin.
Finally, implementing the systems has caused a reduction in the total amount of water used, ultimately reducing the carbon footprint of the facility.
