DownloadThe ULTRAAQUA R&D department conducts, supports, and pioneers some of the latest developmental work within the water industry. These projects are often done in collaboration with specialists from municipalities, universities, top tier consultancies and international companies. The projects are primarily focused on developing unique and advanced chemical free disinfection solution for some of the worlds most complex water quality problems. In addition to ultraviolet disinfection, the research work focuses on technologies such as UV based advanced oxidation processes, ozonation, and filtration of particles (particle analysis).
A vast amount of resources are allocated for activities within R&D, to ensure that we are able to support our customers with innovative cutting-edge solutions. Doing so, we are able to constantly gather information about our products through hands-on experiences in diverse environments.
ULTRAAQUA UV has dedicated an entire department of engineers with specialization in the design and construction of UV systems. With multiple years of experience in dealing with different applications in the field, the design specialists alter or adjust any standard UV system features to accommodate each case – by request or by recommendation. This greatly varies from adjustments such as reactor shape or flange size, to adding new features that are not considered as a part of our standard UV systems. This makes the ULTRAAQUA design department function as a consulting agency, especially when working with large and complex projects. To enhance the security of our clients, we have designed and installed indoor and outdoor testing facilities for closed vessel UV systems and open channel lamp banks.
All customized UV units go through integrated CFD, Fluence rate, and Particle tracing modeling analysis, as well as the physical testing facility. Lastly, the design department has comprehensive technical knowledge, making them able to assist with installation details such as weir design, water level control devices, and any other project-specific attributes.
The approach of ULTRAAQUA UV Research and Innovation department is to bring fundamental science into product and solution development. The concept of Virtual Prototyping (CFD) is used to accelerate this process. We support the commercial departments with high-level knowledge and products that are the best in the world concerning solving water-related challenges in a wide range of applications.
The ULTRAAQUA UV Research and Innovation department comprise a team of ten people with B.Sc./M.Sc./PhD level education with a complementary background in environmental technology, physical chemistry, advanced modeling, mechanical engineering, and technical design.
We have a 100m2 process and technology research laboratory equipped with a range of advanced and standard analytical equipment as well as several technology testing setups.
We are constantly involved in publicly funded national and European research programs and have a well-established collaboration with several Danish and European Universities and Knowledge Institutes.
ULTRAAQUA UV was founded by two scientists and has since relied strongly on research and technology advancement activities. The company seeks to not only provide the best UV disinfection products, but to enhance the use of UV technology in numerous sectors.
Throughout its history, ULTRAAQUA UV has designed and expanded a laboratory to accommodate all research activities. Using the latest available equipment provides our scientists with the ability to invent, test and scale.
ULTRAAQUA UV has designed and installed two indoor and outdoor testing areas. The testing areas enable the company to successfully test and scale new and optimized products. Furthermore, they greatly elevate quality control procedures for large scale projects.
The innovation department would not be what it is today without the brightest minds of the century. The contributions of teams consisting of doctorates and diverse field experts have been key to the overall success of the company.
