The city of Yulin in China has been experiencing water supply shortages, particularly in the summer season. Additionally, as the city is hosting provincial sports games in 2023, the demand for improved infrastructure was required. This means that the existing municipal drinking water treatment facilities need to be upgraded, as well as building additional facilities to supply the demand.
To meet the increased demand for water supply, it was necessary to upgrade and build additional water treatment facilities. The Yulin Xisha Municipal Water Facility is included in this infrastructure improvement plan.
To treat the vast amount of safe water needed for the locals, UV technology was included in the process as the final treatment step. As chlorine is used earlier in the treatment path, UV is essential to eliminate waterborne chlorine-resistant pathogens in the water. This is due to chlorine being incapable of inactivating Cryptosporidium, Giardia, or other chlorine-resistant pathogens, which UV has proven to be effective against.
“The UV disinfection system made by ULTRAAQUA adds a robust barrier against harmful microbes such as crypto, giardia, and other chlorine resistant micro-organisms that may exist in our drinking water facility. The system are very easy to operate and maintain”.
